Centinel Spine to Launch New Titanium Coating at NASS

New York City, N.Y.-based Centinel Spine Inc. will launch its new product, the Ti-Active titanium coating, at the 2014 North American Spine Society (NASS) Annual Meeting in San Francisco, Calif.

Ti-Active is an osteoconductive, texturized, bioactive, titanium coating applied via a proprietary application process reportedly delivering reproducible, uniform thickness with controlled porosity.
The texturized coating is designed to create a three-dimensional osteoconductive environment that delivers enhanced fixation, increased primary stabilization and bony on-growth. The bioactive surface is also touted to also accelerate mesenchymal stem cell adhesion and proliferation providing a biological friendly environment for bone formation.

Centinel officials report that Ti-Active had a successful limited initial launch, with positive feedback from surgeons. The company plans to market the coating with Stalif C-Ti (“Stand alone lumbar interbody fusion” device).

“Ti-Active represents our commitment to advancing the standard of care in spinal fusion procedures merging the established osteoconductive advantage of titanium with the elasticity and visualization benefits of PEEK and the proven clinical success of Stalif technology,” Said president and CEO John Viscogliosi.

Centinel is focused on making no profile integrated interbody fusion technologies.

Centinel Spine will be displaying its products booth #813 on the conference floor at the Moscone Center during the NASS Annual Meeting.
